Telangana American Telugu Association and CKM Alumni Join Hands to Serve Underprivileged Students. At CKM Government Degree College, Desaipet, a state-of-the-art, modernized computer laboratory equipped with advanced facilities was inaugurated with the support of the Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) and the CKM College Alumni Association. Representatives of the Telangana American Telugu Association, along with the college Principal, Dr. Dharma Reddy, formally inaugurated two computer labs.

Speaking at the meeting held thereafter, College Principal Dr. A. Dharmareddy, detailed the background of the college and recalled that Acharya Chandakanthayya Sreshti Garu laid the foundation of the college. He pointed out that there is currently strong demand in the market for IT services and it was heartening that representatives of the Telangana American Telugu Association who are the Alumni of the college, and MOURITECH, Hyderabad, came forward to provide 50 modern computers with the latest versions. He also appreciated the CKM Alumni for donating two air conditioners for the college’s development.

Later, Telangana American Telugu Association President Mr. Naveen Reddy Malipedd, explained the mission behind TTA Seva Days. He said TTA believes in giving back to the society, that is the reason why about 40 TTA organization leads came from the USA to Telangana this year, to serve the underprivileged, needy areas of various districts in Telangana. This used to be done every two years, but the value of the program has motivated him to do it more frequently.

Mr. Srinivas Guduru, a proud Alumni, initiator and sponsor of this computer donation project and TTA Literary and Souvenir Director, said he wanted to give back for the college that helped him to grow as an individual. Dr.Pailla Malla Reddy garu, the founder of the organization has built many such institutions and uplifted many needy lives. Recalling his memories with the college, he said he was fortunate to be the student of this college during the the Principal Professor Jayashanker gari time. He advised students to dream hard and work hard to achieve them, without looking for others’ support for their growth. He vehemently thanked MOURITECH, CKM Alumni Association, who readily came forward to support the computer donation project.

Mr. Bhanu, representing the Non-Executive Chairman of MOURITECH, Mr. Anil Erram Reddy, who donated these 50 computers, said that these computers have the latest versions suitable for in-demand, employment-oriented courses. He added that if students utilize these facilities properly and acquire the skills, employment opportunities would also be offered through their organization, MOURITECH.

TTA Seva Days Coordinator Viswa Kandi impressed upon the self-reliance, and asked the students to volunteer in maintaining the upkeep of the College and look after it like their own house.. He assured TTA will be with them in finding the right career opportunities.

The TTA 10th Anniversary celebrations chair, Dr. Donthi Reddy Narasimha Reddy stated that students would be given a “Learn to Earn” opportunity while studying, directly through the college computer lab. He assured that necessary facilities for the college would be provided, while emphasizing that students and faculty must responsibly maintain them.

CKM Warangal Alumni Association Vice President Nannapa Raju Rajendar Raju, advised students to inculcate self-discipline, stating that only then can they reach greater heights. He affirmed that CKM alumni would continue to strive for the welfare of the college and underprivileged students. He and Dr. Hari Eppanapally another Alumni have recently contributed to the development activities of the CKM College.

The TTA Advisory Council Chairman, Dr. Vijayapal Reddy, wished the students a bright future.
Later, the guests were felicitated and were presented with mementos. The program was attended by Shiva Reddy Kolla-General Secretary, Sahodar Peddireddy-Treasurer, Swathi Chennuri-Jt. Mr. Srinivas Guduru. thanked the Principal Dr. A.Dharma Reddy, for the collaboration throughout the past two months, elaborate arrangements for the event. He also thanked the teaching and non-teaching staff who helped in running the event in an organized way.
