The grand Bathukamma celebrations 2025 were organized by the Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA), New York, on Sunday, September 28, at the Radisson Hotel Ballroom, Hauppauge, New York. This year’s celebrations turned out to be more colorful, vibrant, and unforgettable than ever. The event was conducted in such grandeur that it matched the festivities back home in Telangana. Over 1,000 members attended with their families, celebrating Bathukamma as a true cultural festival of Telangana.

Highlights of the Program :

The main attraction was an 8-foot Bathukamma, beautifully crafted overnight by Regional Vice-President Mr. Jayaprakash Enjapuri, along with the entire TTA–NY team, using authentic flowers specially procured from locally in the USA. A gracefully revolving goddess idol placed on the Bathukamma captivated everyone’s attention.

Women dressed elegantly in traditional attire, adorned with glittering gold jewelry, brought their own colorful Bathukammas along with their children. The sight of everyone, young and old, dancing in circles to Bathukamma folk songs reflected the rich beauty of Telangana’s cultural traditions.

The host, Ms. Lakshmi Kulkarni, engaged the audience with her lively presence, dancing along with the guests and making the event successful. Singer Lavanya enthralled everyone with melodious Bathukamma songs.

The program began with Lalitha Sahasranama Parayanam, followed by “Ayigiri Nandini” dance performance choreographed to depict Goddess Mahishasura Mardini by Guru Sadhana Paranji’s disciples, and continued with a live band and DJ that filled the hall with high energy.

The evening concluded on a grand note with enthusiastic Dandiya dances by all the attendees. The TTA was applauded for presenting such a magnificent festival that brought the traditions of Telangana alive in New York.
